Yovani Aguilar Tapia Killed in Multi-Car Accident on North Gene Autry Trail in Palm Springs
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office has identified one of the three people who died in a multi-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon in Palm Springs.
At around 3:05 p.m., the California Highway Patrol received reports of a car crash on North Gene Autry Trail between Salvia and Via Escuela.
Three vehicles were involved in the collision. Authorities say the crash was likely caused by dusty conditions that impacted visibility in the area.
Three people were killed in the wreck. 32-year-old Yovani Aguilar Tapia, of Escondido, has since been identified as one of the people who died in the crash.
Other victims were hospitalized with minor to moderate injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
