German Dominguez-Galindo Arrested Following DUI Accident 

An impaired driver struck a 31-year-old woman in Ukiah Sunday night, causing severe injuries. 

The incident occurred at 11:20 a.m. on North State Street near the entrance of the Redwood Empire Fairgrounds. 

German Dominguez-Galindo, 33, struck the woman who was pushing an infant in a stroller. He was driving a sedan at the time of the crash. 

The woman was in critical condition after being rushed to the hospital and the infant was taken to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley for evaluation. 

Luckily, the child was found to be unharmed and later released. 

Galindo was impaired by alcohol at the time of the crash and booked into Mendocino County Jail. He is facing charges of suspicion of DUI and causing injury. 

According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.
