Wilfredo Lopez Killed in 15 Freeway Rollover Crash at Cajalco Road in Riverside County
68-year-old Wilfredo Lopez has been identified by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office as the man who was killed in a car accident that happened near Corona on Thursday afternoon.
Shortly before 1 p.m., the California Highway Patrol received reports of a car crash on southbound Interstate 15 Freeway at Cajalco Road.
A pickup truck and sedan collided on the roadway in unclear circumstances. The impact of the collision caused the sedan to overturn.
Lopez, a Banning resident, was ejected from the vehicle. The Corona Fire Department paramedics attempted lifesaving measures on the man but he died at the accident scene.
A second victim was taken to Riverside Community Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
