Man Killed on Siempre Viva Road in Motorcycle Collision 

A fatal motorcycle collision took place at 6:30 p.m. on December 6th in Otay Mesa.

The man who was killed has been ID’d as Walter Martinez, 27, of Mexico. 

The incident occurred on Siempre Viva Road near Customhouse Plaza. 

According to reports, Martinez was riding eastbound when a semi-truck made a U-turn to the left, directly in front of the rider.

As a result, Martinez crashed into the rear axle of the big rig. Martinez then fell into the roadway and ended up underneath the truck. 

Paramedics rushed the man to Scripps Mercy Hospital where he sadly died.

The male driver of the truck did not suffer any injuries. 

An active investigation is also underway. 

According to statistics, approximately 80% of accidents involving a motorcycle result in injuries or death.
