Victoriano Esparza Struck, Killed by Car on Ironwood Avenue near Heacock Street in Moreno Valley
79-year-old Victoriano Ruiz Esparza has been identified as the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car on Friday evening in Moreno Valley.
The accident happened at about 4:59 p.m. September 1, on Ironwood Avenue near Heacock Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Moreno Valley man was trying to cross the westbound lanes of Ironwood Avenue and was hit by a car.
Esparza was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the authorities.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
