2 Hospitalized Following Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-880
Multiple vehicles collided in Union City on December 2nd, leaving two people hospitalized as a result.
CHP reported that the accident occurred at 6:32 a.m. on the Interstate 880 Freeway.
A Toyota Camry swerved to the left, then overcorrected and ended up crashing into a F-150 pickup truck.
Following that collision, the Camry then rolled over on its roof in the northbound lanes. In addition, the F-150 crashed into another unidentified vehicle.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and transported two involved parties to the hospital.
The severity of their injuries is unknown.
Tow trucks were also needed to remove the damaged vehicles from the scene of the crash.
Investigators are actively working to determine who was at fault.
Multi-vehicle collisions are typically more common in busy intersections or highways. Speeding, weather, distractions, and drowsy or intoxicated driving are main reasons negligent drivers cause these types of wrecks.
When it comes to filing a claim with this type of collision, it gets difficult. This is because multiple vehicles are involved so determining liability can take much longer. Multi-vehicle collision claims are more complex due to numerous victims, multiple negligent drivers, cross-claims and insufficient insurance.
