La Jolla Accident Injures Two Women 

A vehicle hit two women while changing their flat tire within the eastbound lanes of State Route 52.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, December 29th at 12:15 a.m. 

California Highway Patrol reported that an eastbound vehicle lost control due to the wet roads from the rain. As a result, the driver hit both women in the roadway. 

It is unclear at this time what caused the flat tire. 

Both women were seriously injured and rushed to Scripps La Jolla Hospital. Their current condition is unknown.

Additionally, the involved driver stopped at the scene and was fully cooperative with authorities. 

No other injuries were reported. 

The crash remains under investigation.
