Deadly Crash on Pine Canyon Road
A solo-vehicle crash left two people dead Sunday night, June 26th.
The accident took place around 10:15 p.m. in Lake Hughes, northwest of Palmdale.
CHP reports included that a pickup truck went off the roadway for unknown reasons.
The truck crashed down a ravine, killing both the driver and the passenger.
A friend of the victims, and also a witness, alerted authorities and told them both her friends died in a crash near Tweedy Lake Road.
First responders confirmed the deaths at 10:44 p.m.
Investigators are working hard to piece together all of the details of the crash.
Identities are also being withheld pending notification of kin.
In 2020, studies showed that the state of California reported 3,723 motor-vehicle deaths which was an increase from 2019.
