Train Struck and Killed Pedestrian in Long Beach

A train struck and killed a pedestrian on Thursday morning. The accident happened near the Jeff Davis Avenue crossing in Long Beach.

Long Beach Police Department said the deadly train accident happened at about 8:15 a.m. on May 20. The pedestrian was not identified — authorities are investigating why they were on the tracks.

The train was stopped for nearly two hours as authorities investigated the scene.
