Teenager Killed In Car Crash Near Cal Poly

The teenager who was killed in a car crash near Cal Poly has been identified by the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office as 18-year-old Zachary Andrew Harris of South Lake Tahoe.

Harris was declared dead at the scene. The 18-year-old was the sole occupant of the vehicle that was traveling southbound on Highway 1 before it veered off the roadway and hit a tree near Stenner Creek Road.

A joint investigation between the California Highway Patrol and the San Luis Obispo County Coroner into the crash is ongoing.
