Truck Shuts Down Freeway in Central Las Vegas on US 95

A BMW and 18-wheeler truck collided due to reasons unknown on Wednesday morning, September 1st.

The crash took place on the northbound side of US 95 around 4:25 a.m. at Valley View Boulevard. 

According to Nevada Highway Patrol, the truck overturned which caused it to leak some of the 8,500 pounds of fuel it was carrying. 

As a result of the leak, the freeway was shut down from Jones Boulevard to Rancho Drive for several hours. 

It also blocked access from the 15 freeway to US 95. 

Nobody was injured in the collision. 

A spokesman for Nevada Fire explained that they set up “little dams” to prevent fuel from going down from the street.
