Daniel Montano Dies in Collision

42-year-old Daniel Montano, of Rialto, ran a red light Wednesday afternoon, causing a fatal crash.

The wreck occurred at 3:11 p.m. at the intersection of Riverside Avenue and Country Club Drive.

Montano was driving a red Toyota Tacoma at the time of the crash. The impact caused the other vehicle to flip, leading to minor injuries of the female driver.

Sadly, Montano died at the scene.

It was also reported that Montano was fleeing the scene from another accident prior to running the red light.

Additionally, the man is suspected to have been alcohol-impaired.

An active investigation is underway.

According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.

If your injuries are caused by the negligence of a third party you may be entitled to compensation.

It is also important to remember that in the state of California a person involved in a car accident who has sustained injuries has to file a claim within two years of the accident.
