Stockton Woman Killed In Hwy 99 Crash

Late Thursday, a woman was killed in a traffic accident and an overturned big rig on Friday morning kept the Stockton division of the California Highway Patrol busy.

The fatal crash happened on southbound Highway 99 near the Wilson Way exit at about 6:40 p.m. Authorities said the Ford Explorer lost control for unknown reasons and the vehicle traveled onto the right shoulder and off the roadway. The 38-year-old Carmela Cuevas-Cruz of Stockton, the driver, was killed and three juveniles inside the vehicle suffered minor injuries and were taken to San Joaquin General Hospital for treatment.
