33-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Crash near North Goldenstate Boulevard
Shane Hurst lost his life Monday night in a hit-and-run bicycle accident on West Christoffersen Parkway. Around 6:00 p.m., first responders arrived to the 3100 block of West Christoffersen Parkway in Turlock.
According to eyewitnesses, a light-colored Hummer H2 from the years 2003-2009 collided with a male cyclist in the area.
The Hummer driver then failed to offer assistance and continued eastward without stopping. Responding officers found the injured male bicyclist in the center median, his injuries proving fatal after being rushed to a local hospital.
The victim was later identified as 33-year-old Shane Hurst from Turlock. Currently, the Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) is diligently working to uncover more details about the incident.
