Severo Duran Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 4 near San Marco Road in Contra Costa
The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office has identified the Pacheco man who died in a collision near Pittsburg early Thursday morning.
At around 2 a.m., the California Highway Patrol received reports of a car crash on eastbound Highway 4 near San Marco Boulevard.
A Jeep Cherokee was reportedly stopped in the fast lane after being involved in a prior collision and was rear-ended by a Honda Pilot.
26-year-old Severo Duran, the Jeep driver, was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The Honda driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
