Motorcyclist Hurt Following Accident on Interstate 80
A car and motorcycle collided in San Francisco Wednesday night, resulting in major injuries.
CHP reported that the accident occurred at 10:52 p.m. within the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80.
A Honda motorcycle crashed into the back of an unidentified vehicle under unclear circumstances.
It was also reported that the rider was traveling at a high rate of speed before the collision.
Five other motorists stopped to assist the rider who was lying on the ground following the accident.
Paramedics arrived and transported the injured to a local hospital.
Authorities shut down the Nos. 4 and 5 lanes for an hour as investigators worked at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
