Highway 94 Collision Leaves 1 Hospitalized 

CHP reported a rollover traffic accident in San Diego on Thursday afternoon, April 14th. 

The accident took place at 5:07 p.m. within the westbound lanes of Highway 94. 

A Kia Niro and gray sedan collided under unclear circumstances near Broadway. 

Due to the impact, one of the vehicles rolled over about 5 times and landed on its wheels. 

Passerbys helped the occupants get out of their vehicle and one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators are actively working to determine fault.

Rollovers account for only 3% of all serious collisions; however, 30% of them result in a fatality. 

According to the NHTSA,  almost 80% of rollovers involve one car. Additionally, roughly 250,000 vehicles that are involved in a rollover are left undriveable.
