Pedestrian Struck, Killed in Hit-and-run Crash is ID’d

Ronald Huntley, 46, died Sunday night in a hit-and-run crash while crossing Avalon Boulevard and 81st Street in the Florence area of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the victim of the collision that happened at around 11:05 p.m. on Sunday, March 3rd, 2024.

The Los Angeles Police Department is heading up the investigation into the deadly crash and they are searching for the suspect in a possible white-colored sedan.

The vehicle was reportedly traveling at high speed southbound on Avalon Boulevard when the driver crossed into northbound lanes to pass other motorists who had stopped for pedestrians crossing the roadway.

The victim was crossing in an eastbound direction at an unmarked crosswalk. The driver struck the man and continued down Avalon Boulevard without stopping to help him.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Fire Department sent paramedics to the crash scene and pronounced Ronald Huntley dead.

Finally, the city of Los Angeles has a standing reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the suspect’s identification, arrest, and conviction.
