Deadly Las Vegas Accident on Walnut Road
19-year-old Beleca Genesis Jones was killed as the result of a rollover crash in Las Vegas last Tuesday.
The incident took place just after 12 p.m. at the intersection of Walnut Road and Las Vegas Boulevard.
Additionally, Michael Garcia was the 22-year-old driver of the Toyota Corolla in which they were traveling.
The two were heading south when they drove into a rock median, causing the vehicle to flip over and skid into an oncoming KIA Soul.
Unfortunately, Jones sustained serious injuries due to the impact and died at the scene.
Garcia was also rushed to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
Neither drugs or alcohol were considered to play a factor in the crash.
An active investigation is underway to determine what may have caused the accident.

Statistics show that rollover accidents account for about one-third of all fatalities in the U.S. In addition, 30% of vehicle fatalities are rollover crashes. These types of accidents are far more likely to result in a fatality than non-rollover crashes.
