Man Killed In Fatal Valencia Crash ID’d
Rodney Espinal, 37, of Los Angeles, has been identified as the victim of a crash last month in Valencia on the Interstate 5 Freeway.
The 37-year-old Los Angeles man suffered major injuries and died at the hospital on Thursday, June 1, KHTS News reports.
Deadly Interstate 5 Freeway Crash
The two-vehicle collision occurred around 9:35 p.m. on June 1st, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
CHP officers responded to the northbound I-5 Freeway, just south of Valencia Boulevard, police said.
Rodney Espinal was driving a BMW that came to a stop in the No. 3 lane due to unknown circumstances.
Meanwhile, a driver in a Ford truck towing a box trailer was heading northbound on the I-5. As the Ford truck passed the BMW, the truck’s front end hit the back of the BMW, police said.
The BMW driver suffered major injuries in the crash. Paramedics responded and rushed him to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, however, he died from his injuries, the CHP said.
Furthermore, the Santa Ana resident who was driving the Ford was uninjured.
Investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
