Motorcycle Rider Killed in Crash on Riverside Freeway

Motorcyclist Riley Myers, 26, of Rialto, tragically lost his life in an accident on the Riverside 91 Freeway in Corona.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 1 a.m. on July 18th, just east of Main Street, as reported by the California Highway Patrol.

The accident involved a stalled vehicle towing a trailer that came to a complete stop in the westbound middle lane of the freeway due to unknown circumstances. Riley Myers, who was riding a motorcycle behind the vehicle, was unable to avoid colliding with the trailer. The impact caused him to be ejected from the bike and thrown onto the freeway. Despite the prompt response of paramedics from the Corona Fire Department, he tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene around 1:18 a.m.

The victim was identified as Riley Myers by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner.

In the other vehicle, two individuals were present, but no injuries were reported.

Authorities are actively investigating the crash to determine the circumstances leading to the rider’s death. It remains unclear whether the trailer had rear lights or if the rider attempted to avoid the collision.

Investigators from the CHP’s Riverside office are diligently working on the case to establish responsibility for this heartbreaking incident that took the life of Riley Myers.
