One Killed Following South LA High Speed Chase
A Kia Sportage was being chased by police in South LA Thursday afternoon for reckless driving and DUI.
The incident was taking place just after 3 p.m. on South Central Avenue on July 14th.
The Kia reportedly exited the 105 Freeway and crashed into a sedan, and also two other vehicles.
Sadly, the driver of the sedan was killed as a result.
The suspects also suffered major injuries and were handcuffed and taken to the hospital.
Further details will be provided once an investigation is concluded.
According to studies, about 300 lives are lost each year due to police pursuit related collisions.
There is also a high percentage of these chases that result in crashes.

- Call 911 if there are any injuries
- Get vehicle to safety if it is moveable, if it is not, put on hazards
- Exchange information with others involved and document everything
- Call 911 to report accident – they determine who was at fault
