Fatal Crash Results in Death of Pedestrian in Riverside County 

A pedestrian was killed in Riverside County Tuesday morning, June 14th.

Per CHP, the crash took place at 6:14 a.m. within the southbound lanes of the 215 Freeway. 

While there are no details regarding the accident, the pedestrian sadly suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. 

CALFIRE Riverside paramedics arrived at the scene to provide aid.

A tow truck was also needed to remove one of the vehicles from the roadway. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

According to statistics, there was a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.

In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.

  • Avoid distractions (use of headphones, cell phone) 
  • Obey traffic laws & signals
  • Always use crosswalk
