Pedestrian Killed in Accident in South Sacramento Identified

Paul Robert Duarte, 44, of Sacramento, died in a suspected DUI pedestrian accident at 29th Street and Gardendale Road in Sacramento.

The crash occurred about 9:53 p.m. on Nov. 21st in Sacramento, according to to FOX40 News and the Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner.

A 60-year-old man named Bobby Thomas was reportedly driving at the intersection of 29th and Gardendale Road.

Paramedics responded and found the pedestrian suffering from serious injuries. The medical crews performed life-saving measures on Paul Duarte but sadly he succumbed to his injuries and died shortly afterwards.

Meanwhile, police reportedly located Bobby Thomas at a nearby residence after he left the scene. Investigators determined the driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the collision. Authorities arrested Bobby Thomas and booked him on on DUI charges as well as gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

The case remains under investigation.

Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified Kathleen Ellen Blair as the woman who died in the crash.
