Patricia Cooper Hit and Killed by SUV While Riding Bicycle in Simi Valley
Authorities identified the woman who died in a bicycle versus SUV accident Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Simi Valley as 45-year-old Patricia Cooper.
According to the Simi Valley Police Department, the cyclist died at the scene of the collision that happened around 1:45 p.m. at Fitzgerald Road and Erringer Road.
Police said the Simi Valley woman was riding a bicycle west on Fitzgerald when a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 traveling southbound on Erringer hit her in the crosswalk.
Emergency personnel pronounced Cooper dead at the scene.
The SUV driver did not suffer any injuries.
Authorities said alcohol or drugs did not appear to be factors on either party.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
