Fiery Big Rig Crash on 10 Freeway 

The driver of a semi-truck was hospitalized after being involved in a collision Sunday night.

The crash occurred in Ontario at 9:16 p.m. within the eastbound lanes of the 10 Freeway.

According to CHP, a Toyota Camry and semi-truck collided at the Mountain Avenue on-ramp for unknown reasons. 

Upon impact, the trailer of the big rig became detached and the Toyota also caught fire. 

Paramedics transported the big rig driver to San Antonio Regional Hospital with undisclosed injuries. 

Authorities also issued a SigAlert due to the closure of several traffic lanes. 

The California Highway Patrol is actively investigating the crash.

Tips for after accident procedures:

  • Call 911 if there are any injuries 
  • Get vehicle to safety if it is moveable, if it is not, put on hazards
  • Exchange information with others involved and document everything 
  • Call 911 to report accident – they determine who was at fault
