Man Killed in Deadly Accident on Agoura Road
Two vehicles collided head-on in Agoura Hills Thursday evening, leaving one man dead.
It was just before 7:30 p.m. when the crash occurred on June 30th.
Per reports, one of the vehicles attempted to pass another when it collided with oncoming traffic in the opposite lane.
Sadly, one of the drivers died at the scene.
Another person suffered minor injuries and was treated at Los Robles Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
Head-on collisions are without a doubt the most dangerous types of crashes. They may only account for 2% of accidents, however they make up 10% of all deadly crashes.
The Fatal Analysis Reporting System (FARS) has found that:
- 75% of head-on crashes happen in rural areas
- They are most common on two-lane highways
- Failure in negotiating a curve on the road causes 23% of all fatal head-on collisions
- 58% of head-on collisions result in a fatality
