Fatal Crash on Hollywood 101 Freeway

Two people were hospitalized and one killed as the result of a two-vehicle collision in Studio City Thursday morning.

According to CHP, the accident took place around 2:05 a.m. on March 24th.

It is unclear at this time what caused the crash. It was reported, however, that one of the vehicles ended up ripped in half and the other wound up on the Tujunga Avenue off ramp.

Sadly, a 20-year-old woman died at the scene.

Two other people involved were taken to a hospital in unknown condition.

Authorities shut down the Tujunga off ramp and diverted traffic from the 101 to the Ventura 134 Freeway.

Investigators were also at the scene for several hours trying to gather all the details of the accident.

It is also unknown whether or not drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.

In 2020, studies showed that the state of California reported 3,723 motor-vehicle deaths which was an increase from 2019.

In the U.S. one’s odds of dying in a car accident is around 1 in 107.

Always make sure to wear a seatbelt, obey traffic laws, and avoid distractions while driving.
