Deadly Collision on State Route 41
An unidentified person died in a two-vehicle collision in Oakhurst on Sunday afternoon.
The deadly accident occurred on December 26th at 4:48 p.m. on State Route 41 and Cedar Valley Drive.
Per CHP, the vehicles collided within the southbound lanes, causing one to overturn 20 feet down a cliff.
When emergency personnel arrived the other vehicle was smoking.
Sadly, one person died upon impact. Their name is being withheld pending notification of kin.
An active investigation is underway.
In 2020, studies showed that the state of California reported 3,723 motor-vehicle deaths which was an increase from 2019.
