Motorcyclist ID’d as Dakota Stone who Died in Ventura Collision

CHP has identified the 20-year-old who died in a motorcycle accident on Sunday morning as Dakota Stone, from San Clemente. 

The motorcycle accident occurred just before 11:00 a.m., September 5th, on Highway 101 near Telephone Road. 

According to reports, a Toyota Corolla collided with Stone’s Kawasaki motorcycle on the northbound side of the highway for undetermined reasons. 

Dakota was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene and authorities also issued a closure of the highway for a period of time. 

Information regarding the other party has not been disclosed. 

Authorities are also actively investigating the cause of the crash to determine liability. 

According to statistics, approximately 80% of accidents involving a motorcycle result in injuries or death. 

Motorcycle accidents, according to the NHTSA, accounted for 14% of motor vehicle accident deaths in 2019. Motorcyclists should be fully aware of the safety challenges in which they face while riding on roads in California. Below are some tips for motorcyclists:
