Santa Rosa Hit-and-Run Collision Leaves Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt

A hit-and-run accident left a motorcycle rider with critical injuries on Tuesday, September 6th.

The incident occurred in Santa Rosa around 9 p.m. on Fountaingrove Parkway.

A 23-year-old motorcyclist was struck by a pickup truck and was ejected from his bike as a result.

The rider was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

His motorcycle also ended up stuck beneath the truck and the driver continued on dragging the bike with him.

The driver then rear-ended a Honda Accord and fled from both accidents, leading to the driver striking a pole and tree. The truck was eventually abandoned and police later located the 37-year-old male suspect on Wednesday night.

He was arrested on felony hit-and-run charges and DUI with great bodily injury.

Hit-and-run collisions account for almost 6 deaths per day and there is at least one per minute in the U.S.

Always make sure to wear a seatbelt, obey traffic laws, and avoid distractions while driving.

If your injuries are caused by the negligence of a third party you may be entitled to compensation.

It is also important to remember that in the state of California a person involved in a car accident who has sustained injuries has to file a claim within two years of the accident.
