Santa Rosa Hit-and-Run Collision Leaves Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt
A hit-and-run accident left a motorcycle rider with critical injuries on Tuesday, September 6th.
The incident occurred in Santa Rosa around 9 p.m. on Fountaingrove Parkway.
A 23-year-old motorcyclist was struck by a pickup truck and was ejected from his bike as a result.
The rider was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
His motorcycle also ended up stuck beneath the truck and the driver continued on dragging the bike with him.
The driver then rear-ended a Honda Accord and fled from both accidents, leading to the driver striking a pole and tree. The truck was eventually abandoned and police later located the 37-year-old male suspect on Wednesday night.
He was arrested on felony hit-and-run charges and DUI with great bodily injury.
Hit-and-run collisions account for almost 6 deaths per day and there is at least one per minute in the U.S.
