Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Edison Highway, Sterling Road in Bakersfield

A deadly motorcycle accident in Bakersfield happened early Wednesday morning on Edison Highway near Sterling Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal wreck took place at about 5:00 a.m. and involved one car and a motorcycle.

The motorcycle crash happened after a woman driving a Ford SUV collided with a man on a motorcycle. According to reports, the woman denied this and told authorities the motorcyclist struck her vehicle on the left side.

The man on the motorcycle, 38, undeniably had the right of way when the SUV pulled out in front of him. Meanwhile, the woman was exiting a driveway at 3615 Edison Highway.

Emergency personnel rendered aid to the man, but he had to be transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Unfortunately, the man later died at Kern Medical due to the extent of his injuries.
