Collision Took a 22-year-old’s Life 

The fatal crash took place at about 8:30 p.m. on August 17th in Goleta, CA. 

According to reports, the motorcycle rider, Benedictus, collided with a Subaru station wagon on Cathedral Oaks Road. 

Emergency personnel responded to the crash, which was just west of Los Carneros Road. 

Benedictus suffered fatal injuries and unfortunately died at the scene. 

In addition, the driver of the Subaru did not sustain any injuries and was fully cooperative with authorities. 

Cathedral Oaks Road was also shut down for a period of time pending investigation. 

Police are actively investigating to determine the cause and fault of the collision. 

Motorcycle accidents, according to the NHTSA, accounted for 14% of motor vehicle accident deaths in 2019. Motorcyclists should be fully aware of the safety challenges in which they face while riding on roads in California. Below are some tips for motorcyclists:
