Fatal Crash Involving Big Rig at Bellevue and Fox Roads

Three children were injured and one woman killed as the result of a two-vehicle collision in Merced Monday morning.

The Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash took place around 7 a.m. on March 14th.

Ibarra Gonzalez, 36, was driving a Chevy Equinox at the intersection of Bellevue and Fox roads when she failed to yield for the stop sign.

As a result, Gonzalez collided with a tractor trailer.

Sadly, the woman died at the scene. There were also three children in the car at the time that suffered moderate to major injuries. They were airlifted to Valley Children’s Medical Center for treatment.

An active investigation is underway.

JT Legal Group sends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Ibarra Gonzalez.

Statistics have shown that approximately 70% of motor-vehicle accidents are a result of stop sign violations. These accidents often happen at an angle rather than head on and about one-third result in some sort of injury.

Although stop signs are in place to prevent accidents, unfortunately not everyone adheres. This is why it is essential to always pay attention and avoid any distractions on the road.
