Woman, 86, Struck and Killed on Hollister Avenue
Marjorie Vasquez, 86, of Goleta, died in a pedestrian accident Tuesday night on Hollister Avenue in Goleta.
The deadly crash occurred at around 6 p.m. in the 7300 block of Hollister Avenue, near Lowell Way and west of Storke Way, according to Noozhawk.
Marjorie Vasquez was identified by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office. She was reportedly struck by a vehicle and went down in the roadway median, authorities said.
Paramedics responded, but she died at the scene, police said. Julie Chang of Santa Barbara, who was driving the vehicle, stopped and cooperated with the traffic investigation.
Authorities do not suspect drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision, but the case remains under investigation by the sheriff’s Major Accident Response Team.
