Mario Rivera and Stephany Cartgena-Bronfield Left Dead in DUI Collision
Mario Mazariegos Rivera and Stephany Cartgena-Bronfield were victims of a drunk driver on early Sunday morning. The collision occurred around 4:40 a.m., August 1st on the 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles.
Rivera, 43, was heading southbound in a 2014 Hyundai Elantra with Bronfield, 26, in the passenger seat.
According to California Highway Patrol reports, the two were struck by a 2017 Buick Regal at Slauson Ave.
Officials stated that the two sustained major injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspected DUI driver, Dawan Marzett, 30, was arrested immediately following the accident.

According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol.
