Man Seriously Hurt in Fresno Car Crash at Clinton and Maple Ave
A man was hospitalized with serious injuries, and a driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a head-on collision in Fresno.
The wreck occurred at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at Clinton Avenue and Maple Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision involved a Dodge van and a Honda Civic.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the van ran a red light and slammed into the Honda, causing it to acquire major front-end damage and catch fire.
The van went off the roadway and struck a building.
The Honda driver was hospitalized with severe injuries.
The driver of the van was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and taken to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
