Richard Brown III was struck by a vehicle on McHenry Avenue in Modesto, sustaining fatal injuries
The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office identified the man who was fatally struck by a car Saturday evening in Modesto as 37-year-old Richard Brown III.
The fatal crash happened at about 7:20 p.m. on McHenry Avenue between Sylvan and Woodrow avenues.
Authorities said a Modesto woman was driving a Ford Fiesta south on McHenry when she hit Brown under unclear circumstances.
Paramedics took Brown to the hospital with major injuries. The pedestrian later died from his injuries.
The driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Impairment was not believed to be a contributing factor.
