Fatal Traffic Collision on Indian Valley Road

A head-on crash took the life of a Paso Robles man in San Miguel Monday afternoon.

Reports included that the accident happened around 3:35 p.m. on April 4th between a Mazda 3 and Chevrolet Silverado.

While driving north on Indian Valley Road, the Mazda, driven by 19-year-old Noah Calvin, made a left onto Vineyard Canyon Road.

It then collided with a southbound Chevrolet Silverado head-on, driven by Juan Gutierrez, 40.

Sadly, the passenger in the Mazda, a 24-year-old man ID’d as Diego Hernandez, died as a result. He was also not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Emergency personnel also rushed the Mazda driver to San Luis Obispo hospital with moderate injuries.

The driver of the Silverado suffered only minor injuries.

An active investigation is underway.
