Two Hurt Following Crash Involving Pickup Truck

A rollover collision left two people with major injuries in Redding on Sunday afternoon.

CHP reported that the accident took place around 5:30 p.m. within the 5490 block of Churn Creek Road.

A Dodge 1500 and unidentified sedan were involved in the accident. It is unclear, however, what caused the collision.

Due to the impact, the pickup overturned onto its roof which resulted in debris being scattered in the roadway.

One person suffered a leg injury and another was bleeding from the head.

First responders transported the injured to the hospital for treatment.

Tow trucks were also needed to remove the vehicles from the scene.

In addition, authorities shut down both lanes of the road for a period of time following the crash.

Further details will be provided once an investigation is concluded.

Rollovers account for only 3% of all serious collisions; however, 30% of them result in a fatality.

According to the NHTSA,  almost 80% of rollovers involve one car. Additionally, roughly 250,000 vehicles that are involved in a rollover are left undriveable.
