At Least 1 Severely Hurt in Salinas Car Collision on Highway 101 near John Street
One person was severely hurt in a collision that took place early Friday morning in Salinas, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on northbound Highway 101, just south of John Street.
CHP said a car had crashed under unclear circumstances, resulting in property damage only, and then moments later, a party called authorities reporting that they had struck the first vehicle.
The second collision resulted in major injuries to at least one person. Paramedics responded to the scene and helped the victim.
Police are investigating to establish the factors that contributed to the collisions.
