Man, 20, Killed; 3 Injured in Head-on Crash on Highway 247

Luamata Halaholo, 20, of West Covina, died and three people were injured in a head-on crash on Thursday afternoon on Old Woman Springs Road.

The fatal, two-vehicle collision occurred at around 4:12 p.m. on Feb. 1st, near Post Office Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The drivers of a black sedan and a red sedan collided head-on at the intersection of Old Woman Springs Road also known as State Route 247, the report said.

Paramedics responded to the scene and found the victim trapped in the passengers seat of the black sedan driven by a male driver. Both of the vehicles had major damage.

Despite life-saving measures, Luamata Halaholo died at the scene, Victor Valley News Group said.

Meanwhile, the driver of the black car and a man and a woman from the red car suffered serious injuries. Paramedics transported them to a trauma center and police noted that the woman reportedly could feel her legs.

Authorities closed down Old Woman Springs Road for several hours to conduct an investigation into what happened and will eventually determine fault for the crash.
