Woman Killed at Almond Drive and Center Avenue

37-year-old Brenda Luna was killed following a car crash in Los Banos last Friday evening. 

The fatal collision occurred on January 28th at 7:13 p.m. at the intersection of Almond Drive and Center Avenue. 

According to CHP, Luna was traveling north in a 2006 Honda as she was approaching Almond Drive. 

Luna’s vehicle then collided with a GMC that ran a stop sign at the intersection. 

As a result, Luna sadly died at the scene of the crash. 

The driver of the GMC was ejected from his vehicle upon impact and rushed to the hospital with major injuries. 

Authorities also shut down the area for a few hours following the accident. 

The crash remains under investigation.

Statistics have shown that approximately 70% of motor-vehicle accidents are a result of stop sign violations. These accidents often happen at an angle rather than head on and about one-third result in some sort of injury. 

Although stop signs are in place to prevent accidents, unfortunately not everyone adheres. This is why it is essential to always pay attention and avoid any distractions on the road.
