Bicycle Accident Reported at S. Sepulveda and Wilshire Boulevards 

CHP reported a major-injury bicycle accident Monday morning in Los Angeles. 

The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on June 27th at the intersection of South Sepulveda and Wilshire Boulevard. 

Reports included that a bicyclist and vehicle collided under unclear circumstances. 

Paramedics rushed the bicyclist to UCLA Medical Center with major injuries. 

Further details will be provided once an investigation is concluded.

Similar to motorcyclists, bicyclists are just as vulnerable on the roads. According to the NHTSA, 30% of bicycle accident injuries occur when hit by a vehicle. In addition, these injuries are often the result of the driver not paying attention.
