Suspect Sought in Fatal Hit-and-run Bicycle Accident
Fatal Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident Claims Life of Leobardo Cervantes, 29, in Long Beach.
Leobardo Cervantes, a 29-year-old resident of Long Beach, tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run bicycle accident near Harding Street and California Avenue on July 9th. According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident occurred around 7:55 a.m.
A driver in a dark-colored sedan was allegedly speeding eastbound on Harding Street when they struck Leobardo Cervantes. Instead of stopping to help the injured bicyclist, the driver fled the scene. Paramedics arrived promptly and transported Leobardo Cervantes to the hospital, but he later succumbed to his injuries.
In response to the incident, the Long Beach Police Department launched an investigation, suspecting the collision was intentional. They are treating the case as a homicide, as reported by Bikinginla.com.
