Man, 52, Killed in Crash on I-605 Identified

Lee Morgan, 52, died in a Cerritos crash Monday on the Interstate 605 Freeway at South Street.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner identified the man who died on its website.

The two-vehicle crash occurred in the northbound slow lanes around 11:38 a.m. on June 19th, according to the California Highway Patrol. The drivers involved were a black Jeep with Utah plates and a white Chrysler. The Jeep overturned and caught on fire after the crash.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and located one person trapped in the Jeep, but he suffered fatal injuries by 12:02 p.m., the report said. The victim was identified as Lee Morgan.

The vehicles blocked the Nos. 4 and 5 lanes of the freeway. Tow trucks removed both of the vehicles from the roadway.

Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Cerritos crash on the 605 Freeway.
