Kirth Dwyer Killed and Rick Barretta Injured in Rohnert Park Collision
Four people were injured and one killed following a three-vehicle collision early Sunday morning, August 8th.
The crash took place on Highway 101 near Rohnert Park Expressway at about 4:00 a.m.
California Highway Patrol reported that a Nissan was stopped in the middle lane with its driver standing nearby.
Barretta, who was driving a F-250, rear-ended the Nissan, which ultimately struck the driver of it.
In addition, another car, an F-150, also hit the man who was standing.
The driver of the Nissan, 60-year-old Kirth Dwyer, was pronounced dead at the scene. Barretta along with his three passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The F-150 occupant, who has been ID’d as Jorge Mendoza-Suarez, did not suffer any injuries.
Investigation of the crash is still underway and anyone with additional information is advised to contact the Santa Rosa CHP office at 707-588-1400.
