Woman Arrested Fatal Hit-and-Run in Pomona
Khailyn Garcia Sanchez, 23, died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on New Year’s Day in Pomona on Garey Avenue.
The deadly crash occurred at around 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 1st near Center Street, according to the Pomona Police Department.
The driver reportedly struck the victim and fled the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department rushed the injured woman to a local hospital where she later died. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner later identified the victim as Khailyn Sanchez. She was a nursing student at Pasadena City College and worked at Burger King, according to her Linkedin account.
The next day, Isabella Ortega, 20, was arrested on felony hit-and-run charges at her home in Rancho Cucamonga. She also faces vehicular manslaughter charges and is being held in lieu of $80,000 bail, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
