John Sellers Killed in Crash on Highway 126 in Santa Paula

The man who was killed in a crash in Bakersfield early Thursday morning has been identified as John Sellers, 60, of Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on Highway 126 west of Hobson Road, at about 5:35 a.m.

The California Highway Patrol said a 2017 Jeep Compass and a 2008 Toyota Prius were involved in the crash on the eastbound side of Highway 126.

The Jeep was traveling east on Highway 126 when it collided with the Toyota, which entered the highway from a private driveway.

Sellers was the driver of the Jeep. He was extricated from the vehicle and rushed to Ventura County Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Toyota, a 31-year-old man, stayed at the scene after the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
