Three Men Hurt in Calaveras Motorcycle Accident
Three motorcyclists were involved in a crash that occurred in Calaveras Saturday, June 18th.
Per CHP, the accident took place at 3:35 p.m. on Pool Station Road.
Jose Sanchez, 51, and Jose Mendoza, 49, were traveling west on their motorcycles when they negotiated a curve.
They then collided with an oncoming motorcycle, driven by Jason Logan, 50, of Roseville.
Due to the impact, all three riders were ejected onto the pavement.
Logan sustained serious injuries and was taken to Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
Additionally, Sanchez, a Stockton resident, suffered minor injuries and also received treatment at Memorial.
In addition, Mendoza sustained major injuries and was taken to Doctors Medical Center.
Investigators are actively working to piece together all of the details of the accident.
According to statistics, approximately 80% of accidents involving a motorcycle result in injuries or death.
Motorcycle accidents, according to the NHTSA, accounted for 14% of motor vehicle accident deaths in 2019. Motorcyclists should be fully aware of the safety challenges in which they face while riding on roads in California. Below are some tips for motorcyclists:
